Program Quality

Learning standards are developmentally appropriate research based standards to help guide programs with curriculum and lesson planning. Beginning at a STAR 2, programs integrate the standards within their curriculum and maintain on-site as a resource for teachers and families.

Learning Standards

Approved curriculum – Quality Early Learning environments are essential for children’s growth and development in such areas as cognitive, social-emotional, language, and fine and gross motor domains. The intent of a curriculum is to provide a framework for each classroom. To learn more about OCDEL approved curriculums click here:

Assessment Tools – Completing authentic developmentally appropriate assessments is a critical piece in high quality early learning programs.
